The Stress Thermometer shows you how your hand temperature fluctuates over time, which is a reflection of your blood flow and a measure of your stress reaction. When you're worried, your skin's small blood arteries contract, and blood flow is diverted to your big muscles and internal organs. This is why, when you're stressed, your hands feel chilly. Because of the fight-or-flight response, blood has been hurried away from your fingertips and to more essential regions of your body. Hand temperatures can vary from 60 degrees to 99 degrees Fahrenheit. When you're anxious, 5° shifts may happen in a matter of seconds. "Cold hands" is the primary guideline for understanding your temperature change. "Cold hands are tight, warm hands are relaxed," is the primary guideline for understanding your temperature shift. Your stress level is linked to your body temperature.
